Sometime ago I got a book as a gift for my birthday called Painted Paper, by Alisa Golden. It is a very inspiring book, filled with tips and techniques to make gorgeous painted papers and, if you want to, turn them into beautiful books. In her book she (mostly) uses acrylic inks. Recently I bought 4 bottles, two blues, yellow and black, so it was time to experiment a bit. I took a big piece of watercolorpaper and started painting. On the second sheet I added thinned orange acrylicpaint and stamped with gesso and bubblewrap. Now the endresult was not too great, but I read in the book that once you cut up you're painted paper, results can be amazing. And that's what I did, I decorated these little books with pieces of the papers I made.
Het geel/blauw/groene boekje is gevuld met aquarelpapier en gekleurd pastelpapier, het boekje in blauw/oranje is gevuld met heel dik acrylpapier.
I filled the blue/yellow/green book with watercolorpaper and colored pastelpaper, the blue/orange book is filled with very heavy acrylicpaper.
I think it is a wonderful technique when you're having some lack of inspiration. Just experiment on a large piece of paper .... And then one thing can lead to another ;-) Have a wonderful day !
