De laatste uurtjes ....

ze tikken weg. We zitten hier met z'n drieen heerlijk te genieten van de top2000, lekker borrelsnackje erbij, zometeen een loempia. De oliebollen en appelflappen smaken ook weer heerlijk, en zo gaan we rustig het jaar uitleunen. De knallen zijn al niet van de lucht, de hond is de hele dag al hysterisch, enfin, Oudejaarsavond zoals het hoort ;-) Monika viert bij een vriendin, raar hoor om haar niet thuis te hebben op een avond als deze ....

The last hours, ticking away. We're at home, the three of us. Monika is celebrating with a friend, it feels strange not to have her here on a night like this. We having a little snack, listening to the Top2000, discussing and enjoying all the good music. The oliebollen and appelflappen taste really good again, we heading for midnight in a very relaxed way. Lots of firecrackers outside, the dog is superstressed, just like Newyears Eve should be ;-)


Voordat 2011 een feit is toch nog even bloggen over de kerstdagen. Eerste Kerstdag zijn we heerlijk met z'n vieren thuis geweest, gewoon zalig ontspannen. Tweede Kerstdag was de dag van het grote gezellige kerstdiner én een bezoek aan oma en opa van Tienhoven.

Just before we hit 2011 I have time to blog about our Christmasdays. First Christmasday we spend at home, just the four of us, relaxing all day. The second Christmasday we had our annual family dinner ánd we visited Arie's parents.

Het waren weer leuke feestdagen, klein minpuntje natuurlijk dat iedereen ziek is geworden, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Arie zit nu vreselijk te hoesten en te kuchen, maar hij wil toch op blijven (en dat vind ik best lief van hem .....)

We had really good Christmasdays. It is a pity we all got sick afterwards, Arie is still sick  now, he has a terrible cough and doesn't feel good at all. But he insists to stay up (and I think that is very sweet of him ...)

Het enige wat ik jullie nog wil zeggen : hele fijne jaarwisseling !

Kerstavond

Zo, nu even de tijd nemen om te bloggen. Het is een lang verhaal, maar na een heerlijk diner op 2e Kerstdag ben ik ziek geworden (nee, geen voedselvergiftiging, gewoon heel erg verkouden....). En ik niet alleen, van lieverlee begonnen man en oudste dochter ook. Het is nog niet helemaal weg, en bovendien moest er deze week ook nog hard gewerkt worden. De zaak is gesloten, maar balansen en allerlei achterstallige administratieve klusjes hebben ons aardig van de straat gehouden. Morgen nog één dag, en dan is alles weer tiptop in orde ;-)

Time to blog again. It's a long story, but after a wonderful dinner on 2nd Christmasday I got sick (no, not foodpoisining, just a nasty cold ....). And not just me, during this week my husband and oldest daughter joined me. And on top of that, we had to work too this week. The office is closed, but we needed to do inventory and all the other paperwork, so we can start all clean and organised in 2011. Only one more day to go and we're all done ;-)


Ik zal beginnen met kerstavond. Mams was hier en we hebben heerlijk gegeten. Later op de avond hebben we natuurlijk de kadootjes uitgepakt, en we zijn allemaal weer super verwend. Zelfs Blooper had weer een goede kerst, ze heeft heerlijk de hele avond op een nieuw bot liggen kluiven ;-)

Oke, Chistmas Eve was wonderful. My mum was here and we had a great dinner. Later in the evening we unwrapped gifts, and we all got spoiled rotten. Even Blooper had a wonderful Christmas, she was so happy with her new bone ;-)

En verder was het natuurlijk een witte Kerst, en dat was voor ons heel lang geleden ! Nu zijn er waarschijnlijk mensen die zeggen, nee hoor, vorig jaar ook .... Maar hier in Zuid Holland was het vorig jaar met Kerst alweer groen, en dat was dit jaar wel anders !

And we finally had a white Christmas, for the first time in many years ! (that is, in my part of the country ....)

Wat wil ik nog meer kwijt ? O ja, als jullie je afvragen of ik nog schilder .... Ja hoor, als ik weer tijd heb. Volgende week, als alles achter de rug is en het normale (ahum ...) leven weer begint, dan ga ik me weer vol op mijn schilderwerken storten ;-) Want kijk eens, wat ik van de kerstman heb gekregen .... Niet op de foto twee potten verschillende mediums, o ik kan niet wachten om weer wat te gaan doen ;-)

And for those of you who wonder if I still paint ... Yes, I do !! When I can find the time again. Next week, when normal (ahum...)  life returns, I will be painting again, I miss it so much. And just look what Santa brought me .... Not in the photo are two jars of different mediums, and I can't wait to play again ;-)

Een heerlijke rustige 1e Kerstdag. Een beetje lezen, een goed gesprek, een lekker drankje en hapje, en op de televisie Mary Poppins ;-) Inge en Monika hadden deze film nog nooit gezien, en dat is toch wel nodig voor een volledige algemene ontwikkeling ! Alleen jammer dat 'supercallifragilisticexpialidocious' vertaald wordt als 'super kwali kwanti via extra kwasi otisch' hahahahaha. Hoe verzinnen ze het ? We weten toch allemaal dat het

superformiweldigeindefantakolosachtig 

moet zijn ;-)

A quiet and relaxed Christmasday. A bit of reading, good conversations, some good drinks and food, and Mary Poppins on TV. Inge and Monika never saw that movie, and that's a lack in their education ;-) I am watching too and I still love that movie. The translation for 'supercallifragilisticexpialidocious' to Dutch was just horrible, so I had to blog the proper translation LOL

Hele fijne feestdagen !

Nog even een laatste berichtje op mijn blog. Vandaag lekker bezig geweest met kokkerellen, voor ons diner vanavond. Alles is nu zo goed als klaar en/of voorbereid, dus we kunnen ongestoord genieten ;-) Langs deze weg wil ik iedereen nog even hele fijne Kerstdagen toewensen. Het versturen van kerstkaarten is er dit jaar bij ingeschoten, dus nu op dit blog maar een digitaal kaartje ....Allemaal bedankt voor het lezen van mijn blog en het achterlaten van lieve berichtjes, dat waardeer ik echt enorm ;-)

A last quick blogpost. I have been busy today cooking and preparing for tonights Christmas Eve's dinner. All is done now, and I can relax and enjoy the rest of the day ;-) I just wanted to wish all of you the best Christmas days ever. I didn't send out any Christmascards this year, it just has been too crazy and I simply forgot, but above is my digital Christmascard for all of you .... Nog 2 nachtjes

Nog 2 nachtjes slapen, en dan is het Kerstavond. De laatste voorbereidingen zijn in volle gang, glibberend en slippend doe ik de boodschappen, koop de laatste kadootjes (nu helemaal klaar!!) en geniet ik in de tussentijd van de wondere witte wereld. Ik hoor net op het journaal dat er alweer sneeuw aankomt ..... We hebben dit jaar een witte Kerst, dat is 100% zeker ;-)

Only 2 more nights until Christmas Eve. I am busy with the last preparations, slipping and sliding I shop for yummie food and the last presents (I am done!!) and in the meantime I enjoy this wonderful magical white world. I just heard on the news that more snow is coming .... This year we are having a white Christmas, that's 100% sure ;-)

Binnen is het warm en gezellig, en ik geniet volop. Nu ga ik een film kijken, Love Actually, precies de goede film voor deze tijd van het jaar ....

Inside it is warm and cozy, and I love it. Now I will relax and watch a movie. Love Actually, the perfect movie for today .....
