Artist Trading Cards and Give Away

Ik heb er zoveel gemaakt, en zoveel geruild, mappen vol heb ik met prachtige creaties. Afgelopen zaterdag had ik een 'gefeliciteerd' kaart nodig, en omdat de persoon waar hij voor was dol is op ATC's, heb ik maar weer eens zo'n leuk kaartje gemaakt ;-) Ik heb er zelfs een paar leuke collagesheets voor gekocht !

I made and traded so many, I have files filled with beautiful artwork. Last Saturday I needed a 'congratulations'card and because the recieving person loves ATC's, I decided to make a little card ;-) I even bought some cute collagesheets !

En toen had ik de smaak natuurlijk weer te pakken, en dus heb ik er nog 4 gemaakt ;-)

Één kaartje is al besproken, maar als er soms ATC liefhebbers zijn, laat een berichtje achter, 3 mensen ga ik dan een kaartje sturen. Als er veel gegadigden zijn, ga ik ze verloten ;-)

Crusade 43 - Text Messaging

Toen deze Crusade gepubliceerd werd dacht ik gelijk: "Die is leuk, daar ga ik gelijk mee aan de slag!" Helaas, het liep anders. Te weinig tijd, geen zin, de ontdekking van Zentangles, het kwam er allemaal tussen door. Wel maakte ik deze Moleskine pagina. Rommelen met verf, inkt en knipsels uit tijdschriften, en een tekst erop die ik wel toepasselijk vond. Want om te groeien moet je hard werken, en dan bedoel ik nu vooral op het 'artistieke' vlak. Ik ontdek zoveel materialen, en daarvan weer zoveel toepassingen, en ooit zal ik dat toe kunnen passen in groter werk..... Tenminste, dat hoop ik dan ;-)

When this Crusade was published my first thought was : "Wow, a lot of fun, I'll start immediately!" But, I didn't. No time, no inspiration, not in the mood, the discovery of Zentangle, it all got in the way. I did make this Moleskine page. Messed around with paint, ink and pieces from magazines, and a quote that made sense to me. It says growing doesn't come easy, it needs work, and for me it means growing in art. I am still experimenting with a lot of different supplies, and I hope one day I can use all those supplies in larger pieces ;-)

Vandaag dan ook de tijd gevonden om met de Crusade aan de gang te gaan. Op het nippertje, want de maand is bijna om, maar dat maakt niet uit. De achtergrond had ik al een tijdje klaar. Gekleurd met aquarelkrijt, en de randen gemaakt van papierstrips uit tijdschriften, en vandaag dus gewoon wat willekeurige teksten uit tijdschriften erbij gezocht en ingeplakt. Ik heb er verder niet veel mee gedaan, alleen nog wat kleur toegevoegd, en ik vind het erg leuk geworden.

Today I found the time to work on the Crusade. Just in time, because the month is almost over ;-) I made the background a while back, just colored with watercolor crayons and added a border with paperstrips from magazines, and today I just cut out some random text that I liked out of magazines and glued them in. I didn't add much, just some happy colors, and I really like these pages.

Het was weer een leuke Crusade !

Terug naar de oertijd ..

met de nieuwe kit van Dawn Inskip. Door de kit moest ik ineens weer denken aan onze kampeertijd op de RCN campings, in Ouddorp en ook twee zomers in Drente. Daar hebben ze een hele grote fossielenzandbak, en Inge was daar helemaal weg van. Door goed te zoeken kon je daar fossielen vinden, en mooie stenen en Inge vond eigenlijk altijd wel wat. Monika vond het niet zo leuk, want die vond nooit wat ...... Gek eigenlijk, dat ik daar nooit foto's van heb gemaakt! Maar goed, ik had nog een paar andere leuke foto's om mee te scrappen, deze zijn gemaakt in Gaia Park in Kerkrade.

Back to prehistoric times with the new kit by Dawn Inskip. Because of this kit I had to think of all the days we spend at the campsites of RCN. They had this huge sandbox where kids could search for fossiles. Inge had so much fun there, and she always managed to find something nice. Monika was less thrilled, because she never found something .... Kind of funny, I only have my memories and never took any photos ! Anyway, I had some other fun photos to scrap with, these were made in Gaia Park Kerkrade.

Spread Sets

Vandaag een blogpost voor de papierscrappers onder ons. Op de Knotsgekke Kaartendagen in Den Bosch, 26 t/m 28 augustus, wordt er een nieuw product gelanceerd door Studio QX (kuuks). De Spread Sets, om mooie dubbele layouts te maken. Wat schrijven zij er zelf over ?

Op Internet worden vaak pagina’s geshowd (Lay-Outs), verwerkt op een scrapbook-achtergrond. Maar ik vraag me dan af: als je dit in een scrapbook-album met page-protectors doet, wat zit er dan tegenover?Iets heel anders, of misschien in dezelfde sfeer?Het blijft: 1+1=2

Met een Spread-Set© is het: 1+1=1 Immers: doordat de achtergronden links en rechts hetzelfde zijn, maar dan elkaars spiegelbeeld, krijg je balans (rust) in je spread.Het wordt één groot blad, waar je je foto’s op kunt scrappen.

Ja, ik vind het een super goed idee. En wat ik nog het allerleukste vind ? Je kunt je eigen scrap achtergronden laten drukken ! En dat biedt toch weer hele andere creatieve mogelijkheden dan al de standaard scrapachtergronden (hoe mooi die soms ook zijn ...). Wil je meer weten over deze Spread Sets ? My blogpost for today is for those paperscrappers among us. On a craftingfair, next week, 26th-28th August, a new product will be launched by Studio QX (kuuks). The Spread Sets, to create beautiful double layouts. What do they write about the Spread Sets ?

When you look at Scrapbook-sites on the Internet, you'll see very beautiful pages (Lay-Outs).Every page on a scrapbook background, with photos scrapped on them.What I wonder: if you put those pages in a scrap-album with page-protectors, what is on the other side? Something completely different, or maybe in the same colors?It will still be: 1+1 = 2.

With a Spread-Set © it will be: 1+1 = 1! Because the scrapbook-backgrounds left and right are the same, but mirror printed: this brings balance in your spread. It becomes one big page, where you can scrap your photos!

Het scrappen wil bij mij op het moment helemaal niet lukken, totaal geen inspiratie .... Nog een klein weekje, dan gaan de meiden weer naar school, en dan hoop ik iets van een routine terug te krijgen. En hopelijk dan ook mijn inspiratie !

At the moment I am so totally not in a scrapping mood, serious lack of inspiration ..... Just a short week, and the girls will return to school. Hope I get my normal schedule back, and ... my inspiration !

Ben ik weer ;-)

Afgelopen weekend heerlijk met de vouwwagen naar de Veluwe geweest, het was leuk. Te kort .... maar leuk ;-) Ik heb niet veel om te laten zien, maar wel weer een paar Zentangles. Erg verslavend, heb ik al gemerkt. Speciaal voor de Zentangles een schattig klein paars Moleskine boekje gekocht, en de eerste tekening staat er nu in.

I'm back. Last weekend we spend a few wonderful days away with our tenttrailer, it was a lot of fun. Too short .... but fun ;-) I don't have much to show you, except for a few Zentangles. It's very addictive. I bought this cute little purple Moleskine specially for my Zentangles, and the first drawing is finished.

In mijn andere, zelfgemaakte boekje heb ik ook nog 2 nieuwe gemaakt, zgn. 'freehand Mandalas'.

In my other little book, the one I made myself, I also did 2 new Zentangles, so called 'freehand Mandalas'.
